The blood flows from different body parts to the heart through veins. The veins
in our body sometimes get swollen or bulge out. It is a common condition that
may occur after intense exercise, running, standing for too long, or high-impact
activities. They can make a person seem older and odd. Although it is a gradual
process and appears innocuous, vein-popping can be deleterious. For a short
period, vein bulging is a normal reaction, but if it persists for a longer
period, then there may be some underlying meaning to it.
Let us discuss when veins pop out on the feet in detail.
Causes of veins popping out on feet
Veins pop out because of many reasons like obesity, aging, blood pressure
fluctuation, blood clots, inflammation, swelling or varicose veins, pregnancy,
intense workouts, or no workouts at all. However, Feet veins popping out few of them are detailed
below -;
Age factor
With growing age, the body becomes feeble, sickly, and skinny. This leads to
veins looking more highlighted and popped out.
Venous inadequacy
When the flow of blood from the legs to the heart gets obstructed because of
punny vein valves, the veins on the feet get more prominent and appear bulgy.
In this condition, the veins struggle to transport blood properly.
Pregnancy
One must have seen pregnant women have swollen legs and popped-out veins.
It is because of their weight that the blood pressure is reduced. This makes them
prone to varicose veins.
Vigorous workout
If a person exercises intensively, maybe, weight lifting or sprinting, he or she
experiences swollen veins in his or her legs (sometimes in arms too). This is because the
intense exercises induce blood flow to retain more energy.
Insufficient nutrients intake
When the fat percentage in the body reduces, the vein's visuality in the body
increases. This happens when the body does not get complete nutrition.
Blood Clots
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) occurs when blood clots develop in the deep
veins in the body. DVT hamper the flow of blood in the body resulting in veins
visibly popping on the feet. It can also cause skin pigmentation and uneasiness.
Is popping out of veins on feet avoidable?
A balanced life
Eating nutritious food, walking, regular exercising, cycling, and physical activity
stimulate a lifestyle that is healthy for the body and brain. It will improve the
flow of blood and thereby help in preventing vein bulging.
Stagnant postures
Avoid sitting or standing for a long time period. Changing positions in between
or stretching for a few minutes can also help in blood circulation in the legs.
Weight check
Keeping a regular check on weight and avoiding underweight or overweighting
eliminates the stress on feet and the veins in the legs thereby minimising the
condition and preventing it from further aggravation.
